Does Celeb Tobey Macguire use “Spidey Sense” When Playing Poker?
November 2nd, 2007 by Casino Fortune
Tobey Maguire, star of the recent blockbuster Spiderman movies, has been recognized as one of the better poker stars in Hollywood. Recently Maguire won the $2,000 Phil Hellmuth Invitational for $95,480 and impressed Poker legend Phil Hellmuth enough to give a nod to the young Hollywood star, saying that Maguire shows “tremendous focus and determination” and even predicting that Tobey “will become one of the better poker stars.”
So, does Tobey use his “Spidey sense” when playing charity tournaments? He has certainly woven an intricate web of victories, including the Hollywood Park Casino where he netted $186,000 at a $2,000 buy-in tournament, as well as snaring significant payouts at the esteemed World Poker Tournament and World Series of Poker.
Maguire is also known to host friendly poker games for high rollers at his Hollywood Hills home (step inside my parlor said the spider to the flies!), where players such as Dennis Hopper, Matthew Perry, Sharon Stone and Robert Downey Jr. are known to drop by.
