Look I am not a great card player but my strategy always works. I don’t win every hand when I play, but I win everytime someone else plays. How do I do it? First things first.

My strategy to playing Texas Hold em is simple. It is just to know the rules. So for those of you who don’t know my strategy I am going to give it to you right now.

So you have to know this. The two players to the left of the Dealer put out the Blind Bets. The player closest to the Dealer places the small blind and the other player places the large blind. That was really easy but if you are lost, you need to brush up on your betting basics and learn the terminology.

Next each player is dealt two cards faced down. These are called pocket cards. Now the fun begins.

The first move of the game comes from the player to the left of the big blind. They can either call the be
t, raise it, or fold. Betting continues around the table, clockwise. Read it again and keep following along

After the betting is completed, three cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. The first three cards in Texas Hold’em are called the flop. These cards are “community cards” meaning everyone can (and will) use them in combination with their own hole cards to make the best hand. Is it starting to make sense?

After the flop, the betting begins with the player to the dealer’s left, who can check or bet. Then A fourth card is dealt face up onto the board. This is called fourth street or the turn card

Another round of betting and then the final card is dealt face up. This card is also called fifth street or the river.

A final round of betting occurs. Then the remaining players show their cards and the person who can make the best five card hand by combining their pocket cards with the cards on the board wins.
